Memories Stored and Christmas Photos Galore!!!

Any of you that have children know that pictures are the key to capturing all of their little milestones and being able to see how much they have changed over the years. Needless to say I can probably go overboard at times with how many pictures we take of an occasion but I look at it as better to be safe than sorry. Digital cameras are an amazing invention until you get 500+ photos on a disk and need more room but don’t want to spend the money to pay to have all 500+ photos printed at one time. This is where Shutterfly becomes a mom’s best friend when it comes to photos.
Shutterfly is an amazing company that allows you to store your photos long term without them being deleted. This was the greatest thing I discovered not too long ago. I have since been slowly working on uploading every single precious memory that was caught in a photo on to Shutterfly’s amazing website to be safely stored until I get around to eventually having the time to scrap book these precious memories into a cuter way of storage. Although with a toddler, working full time, and another baby on the way I am not sure when that time will come. Another reason why Shutterfly is amazing is because I don’t have to worry, I know the pictures will still be there and safely stored when I get around to having the time to scrap book.
Many of you know that I am a Christmas fanatic and this is quite easily my favorite time of year. One of the things I enjoy the most is creating our annual family Christmas photo card. The past two years have been even more fun to create them because they have featured the love of Reagan and mine’s life, Hudson! It is so fun to have a cute photo card every year to keep and see how much he has changed and oh the bad part, how much we have aged from raising that rambunctious little boy. Reagan and I have family all over the US that we get to see maybe once or twice a year if even that so the Christmas photo cards are an awesome way for our family to get to see how much Hudson has changed over the year. This will be my first year using Shutterfly to design my Christmas photo card and with the ones I have already gotten to play around with I can tell this will be the best card yetJ Reagan and I have had a blast looking through our photos from the past year and figuring out which ones we want to feature on our card.
I have recently also discovered that Shutterfly allows you to create birthday cards and thank you cards! I am looking forward to Hudson’s next birthday if anything just to be able to create another personalized project with Shutterfly. Then, I am sure my husband will be just as thrilled, I can create matching thank you cards for him to send to all his friends that join us for the special occasion. I am sure eventually my husband will wish I hadn’t discovered all the wonderful products Shutterfly has to offer but it does save the time and hassle of having to drag the babies out and go create something and then having to drag them out again to go and pick up the product. I can sit in my pajamas, be productive, and have them delivered to me rather than having to pick them up! For those of you that are mothers of little ones you know how much these simple things mean! If you are interested in creating a Christmas photo card through Shutterfly go to http://www.Shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/christmas-photo-cards ; for birthday cards go to http://www.Shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/birthday-cards-stationery ; for thank you cards go to http://www.Shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/thank-you-cards
Here are just a few of the cards we have played around with! Who knows what we will end up using, guess you will have to wait to receive our Christmas cards to find out:)

Christmas Cards!!!!

Two of my favorite things in life are Christmas and pictures, hence why I absolutely love love love to send out Christmas cards with pictures on them. It is such a fun and cute way to see how your family has changed from year to year. Shutterfly is an amazing web site that allows me to store ALL of my photos of my family indefinitely:) I love shutterfly and they never cease to amaze me at what they offer. This year I cannot wait to use some of the hundreds of photos shutterfly allows me to store to create our Christmas card this year. This will be our last Christmas card as our family of three because shortly after the new year we will soon become a family of four, YIKES:) I have had so much fun playing with creating these cards. Here are just a few I have created on Shutterfly's website......who knows if any of these will be the one I decide to stick with but I can't wait because whatever I decide to order I know I will LOVE!

Hudson felt Clayton move for the first time!

Since we could feel Clayton really pack some punch outside of my stomach we have been trying to get Hudson to feel him move. Many many tries have been unsuccessful. Hudson would put his little hands on my stomach and then take them away just before Clayton would let out a huge kick or roll. Well tonight we finally accopmlished Hudson feeling Clayton move in mommy's tummy!!! The look on his face was completely undescribable and one I wish I could have caught on camera. He pulled his precious little hands off of my stomach and just laughed and had this look of total awe on his face. Hudson then thought it would be fun to really try to shake my stomach up and then watch Clayton kick back in agitation. Hudson would giggle and do it all over again, the same surprised look on his face every time! It was too cute, it was almost like getting a sneak peak of Hudson irritating Clayton while Clayton kicks back in frustration:) Oh my what fun times we will have, especially since Hudson seemed to already get a BIG satisfaction out of it!

First Solo Thanksgiving/Black Friday

This year was the first year that Reagan and I have celebrated Thanksgiving in our home, leaving me responsible for cooking:) I was not looking forward to being away from my parents but the idea of not having to drive 6-8 hrs to see my parents or Reagan's dad was actually quite nice. I tried to prepare as much in advance as possible so that my stress level on Thanksgiving would remain at a minimal so I could enjoy the day! I looked up all the necessary recipes ahead of time and had prepped what I could the night before. Without thinking of black friday I stayed up until almost 1:30 on Thanksgiving Eve getting everything in order. It definitely paid off the next day when I could spend some much needed family time with Hudson and Reagan rather than spending the ENTIRE day in the kitchen.

Dinner ended up only being about 20 minutes behind the estimated time of eating. We had turkey, which was absolutely moist and delicious, stuffing (homemade, not the box kind), green bean casserole, corn casserole, roles, turkey gravy, and brown gravy. Reagan's sister brother in law came over, along with his mother and step dad, and his aunt came to visit later in the evening. Reagan's sister and I had made executive decisions that we would not have cranberry sauce or sweet potatoes because neither one of us or our husbands likes those traditional Thanksgiving items:) I know must of you think this is probably creating Thanksgiving blasphemy (spelling?) but oh well! At the end of the evening everyone was stuffed and had raved about how good the food was, this may have just been a nice thing to say since it was my first time doing Thanksgiving dinner solo but none the less the compliments were much appreciated!

After dinner Evan and Leigh Cooper came by so that Leigh and I could map out our attack for the Black Friday! Even if I do not have anything specific to buy this is my most favority day of the year to go shopping. I know that the majority of people think that I am crazy but for some reason I get a thrill out of deal seeking and the chaos of opening season for Christmas shopping! Leigh and I wrote out all of the places we wanted to go along with the specific things we were looking for at each location and decided that we would head to Target in BA at 3:10 to be there when they opened at 4:00. As I was getting ready to finally get a couple hours of sleep before hitting the stores hard the next day I got a text from another friend Alicia Sloat asking if I was going to brave the crowds the next day. I informed her Leigh and I had planned on leaving at 3:10 and that if she wanted to she was more than welcome to join us. To my pleasant surprise she agreed and then proceeded to let us know that she was a VIRGIN to black Friday shopping!!! That is correct, Leigh and I got to break Alicia into the utter chaos and delirious conversation of black Friday shopping:)

We actually started out for Tulsa on time! That was the first big accomplishment of the day next to actually getting up on time for me at 2:30 after not getting into bed until almost 11 (keep in mind that I only had 4.5-5 hrs of sleep the night before as well) We got to Target right as they were opening their doors, we had to make a pit stop for donuts and caffeine at quik trip before we went to Target. The line was out the door but we steadily got to walk inside without having to wait for hours in the cold. We got in the store and there were no carts left but we did find all of our goals we were looking for at Target, score! Then we started the ridiculous 1 to 1.5 wait in the check out line. Alicia I must say really came through at Target, she spotted the last couple play doh specials I was looking for and I snagged the last two out of three and she also spotted Leigh's mega blocks:) She is definitley going to be a pro by next year when we will get to add two hopefully three children to the shopping lists between the three of us! We got checked out at Target and headed to Wal-Mart!

We found what we all wanted or needed at Wal-Mart very quickly and moved on to Babies R Us. This was a successful stop as well. The bouncer I was needing for Clayton, thanks to Mandi Butler for letting me know two days prior to black Friday, was on sale for about 25 off so I went and purchased that along with another changing pad cover. Leigh found Remington another christmas present and Alicia scored some ADORABLE little girl clothes for miss Brylee (hope I spelt her name right). By the time we left Babies R Us we already had managed to fill the entire back of Leigh's car and were able to start the piling on of the shopping bags. The next stop was breakfast:) We drove through Braums, no time to go in and eat until the madness of black Friday shopping is done! Then we headed on to the JCPenney home store where Alicia and Leigh grabbed some towels for an amazing deal. I was too indecisive on what color would go with red so walked out empty handed.

The next stop was Toys R Us, unfortunately since they had been open since 10:00 pm the night before everything that I was needing to get there was already gone, which I expected so I didn't have high expectations. Our next stop was to the fabric store so that the man rooms curtains at the Coopers could be made and hung:) I will say this I NEVER knew so many people could be so interested in buying twenty different kinds of fabrics at once......thank goodness there was a lady doing an "express lane" cutting! We then headed over to the mall. This was where the majority of my financial damage was done. We hit up Dillards, JCPenney, Bath and Body Works, Christopher Banks (I think, my mind is too exhausted to remember the name), Hallmark, Foot Locker, Gap, Eskimo Joes, Journey and I believe that was it. After about an hour and a half at the mall we headed on to the Carter's store. We found exactly what we were looking for and were ready to finally get some REAL food. We ended up deciding on Olive Garden, which once we all sat down and got full tummies we were definitely ready to try to make it home without falling asleep so we could take naps!

We had decided at lunch that we would talk later in the day and decide if we wanted to get together for dinner that evening. I came home and crashed at by 2:00 pm and did not wake up until about 4:40 pm. Then i realized I only had an hour and a half to wrap all of Reagan's gifts until he got home. I quickly went to wrapping and gave my fellow shoppers an invite for dinner. To my TOTAL surprise Alicia had not been to sleep yet and politely declined which I completely understand. Leigh and I forgot to tell her that at least a 2 hr minimum nap is required to keep functioning well after Black Friday shopping:) Then we decided that breakfast for dinner would be held at the Coopers household. After cooking dinner and eating I decided to attempt to help Leigh in finishing putting her tree together in preparation for the class party at her house the next weekend. She found my fluffing skills to be insane! Actually she couldn't believe I spent that much time fluffing the tree. Then we were on to the lights which ended up ending the entire project due to after being totally put on the tree the strand ended with a piece that needed to be plugged into and could not plug into the outlet in the wall:)

Today was one of the most fun days I have had in a long time and I thoroughly enjoyed my partners in crime. I am hoping that we have maybe started a crazy little tradition and that our virgin shopper Alicia will join us next year again! Although next year we must make her promise to go home and take a nap so the dinner time in the evening can be complete:) Thanks for the morning/day out girls!

New to Blogging

I have many friends that blog. I find them very interesting and such a neat way to keep up with the little things that are going on in their day to day life that I might miss out on otherwise. Sooooo, I have decided to give this blog thing a whirl. I am sure that my mom and dad will grow to love it because they will probably get more information about their grandchildren and their daily activities on here then they would if it were up to a phone call. Not because I do not like to talk to my parents on the phone but rather by the time I have the peace and quiet to call them, it is way past their bed time:) I must be honest, it feels kind of awkward just sitting here typing about all of this but since this is my first blog I am sure with practice I will get better. Although I am not sure how often I will be able to actually blog because as anyone with children would know, my precious little two year old takes up the majority of my free time. Even when I try to make free time for myself he tends to try to make sure that does not happen, and i don't mind that one bit because he will only be this age and wanting my total attention non stop for one moment in is his lifetime and I will never be able to get that back if I miss out on it now.

Naming this blog was very interesting, I am not a very creative person when it comes to naming things, we have enough trouble as it is naming children, let alone a blog. I tried to think of all these clever things and then even thought of just saying mom and three boys. With a two year old boy, a boy on the way, and a husband I thought that might be fitting but then in the end decided against it because my husband is a man not a boy so he might get offended with that blog title. Then adding a mom two boys and a husband would be way too long for a name. After much thought I finally ended on Tennant's Tales. I figured the double T was "cute" and I figured with a crazy two year old boy and another boy on the way I will have plenty of tales between the two of them to tell:)
